As an athlete at UNG, Mooney was recognized during the 2024 season with prestigious honors including selection to the D2CCA Southeast All-Region Second Team, NFCA Southeast All-Region First Team, and Peach Belt Conference All-Conference First Team. Her outstanding performance also earned her a place on the 2024 TUCCI/DII NFCA Player and Pitcher of the Year Watchlist, highlighting her impact and leadership on the field.
In 2023, she was named the NCAA Division II Championship Most Outstanding Player and was instrumental in her team's success as a member of the NCAA Division II Championship All-Tournament Team. Mooney's consistency and talent were further recognized with her selection to the 2023 NFCA All-American Third Team, 2023 D2CCA Southeast All-Region Second Team, and 2023 NFCA Southeast All-Region Second Team. She was also a key contributor to the 2023 Peach Belt Conference All-Conference First Team and the Peach Belt Conference All-Tournament Team.
Mooney was named Chick-fil-A Nighthawk of the Week in March 2023, underscoring her impact both on and off the field.
Mooney's passion for softball began in high school, where she excelled as a varsity starting pitcher throughout her four-year tenure. Her impressive achievements include being named to the first team All-Region, first team All-County, and earning GADC All-State honors. Mooney's standout performances and leadership helped lead her high school team to multiple Sweet 16 appearances and one Elite 8 game.
