Stephanie Kemme Walter is a TPM alumni, former collegiate athlete, and licensed mental health professional who brings both personal athletic experience and professional counseling expertise to her work with young athletes.
Stephanie earned a full athletic scholarship to Tennessee State University, where she competed from 2005-2007.
Driven by a passion for helping others develop confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being, Stephanie continued her education at the University of Cincinnati, earning her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2014.
As a TPM Sports Counselor, Stephanie combines her experience as a former high-level athlete with her background in mental health counseling to help young athletes strengthen their mindset, build confidence, manage pressure, respond positively to mistakes, and develop mental skills that support them both on and off the field.
Throughout her professional career, Stephanie spent years working with adults experiencing significant mental health concerns. This experience deepened her understanding of how anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, and unhealthy thought patterns can affect a person’s confidence, relationships, decision-making, and overall well-being. It also strengthened her belief in the importance of early support and prevention.
For Athletes: She helps players break free from the "perfectionism trap" by teaching them to control their nervous systems between pitches and separate their self-worth from their stats. By learning to view failure as data rather than an identity, athletes build a sustainable, elite mentality on and off the field.
For Parents: She guides families through the high-stress travel and recruiting circuits, focusing heavily on reforming the post-game car ride into a supportive space. Her work helps parents differentiate between healthy, disciplined motivation and a child's underlying fear of failure.
For Coaches: She collaborates with coaching staffs to replace fear-based compliance with constructive dugout environments that encourage resilience. She teaches coaches how to seamlessly integrate "mental reps" and stress-management drills directly into their standard physical practices.
For Softball Teams: She delivers customized mental health sessions that transform the dugout culture, helping teams sync their collective focus during high-pressure tournaments. Her group sessions teach teammates how to anchor each other's confidence, communicate effectively through errors, and build a unified shield against performance anxiety.
